Brian Whipple

Lead & Background Vocals

Brian’s life reflects a deep commitment to ministry and divine purpose. His passion for music and worship began at an early age, singing and playing drums in church. As he embraced a deeper call to ministry, he attended seminary and earned a degree in Religious Studies with an emphasis in music. This foundation has equipped him to effectively lead and serve in multiple areas of church ministry, including being a licensed minister. Over the years, Brian served as a drummer on various contemporary and gospel mass choir recordings, and has contributed as both a lead and background vocalist for many independent artists. His solo project, No Yesterdays, is an expression of his love for God and heart for worship. Brian considers his journey a living testament to Jeremiah 29:11—walking in purpose, hope, and a future grounded in God’s promises.

David Sayer

Keyboards & Background Vocals

As keyboard player and principal songwriter for the band, David brings a dynamic musicality that seamlessly bridges the gap between high-energy rock anthems and reflective worship songs. He has been honing his craft since high school, developing a signature style that balances technical skill with deep emotional resonance. David is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, with a degree in audio engineering and Broadcast Communications. Throughout his career and creative journey, David anchors his life and lyrics in Hebrews 4:16:  Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Drawing on the promise of bold access to God's grace to fuel both his music and his faith, he hopes his song lyrics will impact your life and encourage you in your life in Jesus.

Duane Evarts

Duane Evarts

Acoustic Guitar & Background Vocals

Duane's journey in music spans decades. From Jesus Music audio production throughout the 1980's to contemporary faith-based performances, he blends technical prowess with heartfelt ministry.  Duane founded the "Jesus Music Experience" Facebook group as an evangelistic platform, posting video episodes that re-introduce forgotten Jesus Music era artists and their music. When Duane performs as a solo artist, audiences enjoy a safe, fun, family-friendly time of Christian music, anecdotal stories, historical education about the 1970's-1980's Jesus Movement and personal testimony tailored to the event. He often weaves stories of spiritual reflections with CCM history. In addition to performing with EVIDENCE COLLECTIVE, his music emphasizes hope, with themes from Genesis through Revelation to modern worship, performed in both intimate settings as well as larger outdoor events.

Erika Roberg

Duane Evarts

Lead & Background Vocals

Erika began singing in church at the age of 4 and has been serving in worship ever since. Over the years, she has sung with various worship teams and country bands, but singing for the Lord remains her passion. As a member of Evidence Collective, Erika sings background vocals and occasionally steps into a lead vocal. She especially loves creating rich harmonies that bring depth, warmth, and unity to worship. The name Evidence Collective carries deep meaning for Erika because she sees her own life as evidence of God’s goodness and grace. Through Christ, she was delivered from alcohol addiction and is now 13 years sober. Her testimony reflects God’s faithfulness, redemption, and transforming power, and she considers it a privilege to use her voice to point others to Him. Erika's life verse is Psalm 40: 1-3: I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord.

Drums (Visual Timekeeper)

I started playing drums in high school. By the time I was 19, I was playing in clubs with a fake ID. After several years and a few different bands, one of the regulars at the bar I was playing at went home and beat his wife and put her in the hospital. I quit the drums and gave my life to Christ. After six months, the Lord spoke to me about playing drums for him and opened up a lot of doors including playing in church and doing studio work for Jubal records. I also played with the contemporary gospel group "Joy" for a couple of years. I have been inspired by the talents and songwriting abilities of David Sayer whose heart for God comes out powerful in his music. I am honored to be the drummer for the group Evidence and want to play with all my heart as unto the Lord..

Rick Hudnall is a versatile guitarist with a career spanning decades and genres. Picking up the instrument at age 12, Rick was performing in bands by 16, quickly developing a style that bridges the worlds of Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Pop. His extensive experience includes years of performing in various rock, pop and cover bands, as well as a 20-year tenure on worship teams. A respected leader in the musical community, Rick served as an on-staff Music Director for a church for over 12 years, arranging music, overseeing complex productions, and mentoring other musicians to help them refine their skills and reach their full potential. His professional highlights also include touring with acclaimed CCM artist Janny Grein, showcasing his ability to deliver performances on both national and international stages.

Bass Guitar

Tommy began playing bass over 20 years ago when his church’s bassist left for a two-year mission in Africa. Stepping in to fill the role sparked a lasting passion, and he has been playing in worship ever since. For Tommy, worship is more than music—it’s a full expression of body and soul, and something he deeply loves. Over the years, he has continued to refine his craft, playing with a variety of bands across genres including country, rock and roll, and indie. His versatility and dedication to growth have shaped him into a well-rounded musician. Tommy lives by Matthew 6:34: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Grounded in his faith, he embraces each day with trust, joy, and a deep belief that God is always in control.

Band Pastoral Care

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri in the midst of lots of music and Cardinal baseball. At games I heard plenty of Dixieland jazz, being near the banks of the Mississippi. Growing up, I was drawn to guitar by first hearing Alvin Lee play the intro to “I’m Going Home” on the Woodstock Music Festival recording by Ten Years After. I then discovered jazz guitar and Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, and Jim Hall. I’ve played over the last 50 years, studying primarily jazz and bebop. I became a Christian my last year of high school and then went to a Bible college in Florida followed by Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. I served as a youth pastor for eleven years and then moved with my family to Denver to plant Redeemer Church in Parker, CO.  I’ve enjoyed my connection to serve both musically and pastorally with EVIDENCE COLLECTIVE!

Doug Abrell - Member Emeritus

Doug was an integral part of Evidence Collective from its very inception, helping to lay the foundation for what the group is today. Beyond being a formidable musician who deeply shaped our sound, he quickly earned the reputation of being a spiritual anchor for the band. His wisdom, musical passion, and grounded faith left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege to play alongside him. Currently, Doug is back in his home state of Indiana, embracing a different but equally important calling: caring full-time for his elderly mother. While his presence on stage and in rehearsals is sorely missed by the band, the Evidence Collective family is continually moved and impressed by his selfless love and devotion to his mom during this season of life. He is a walking example of the faith he brought to the group. Perfectly reflecting his heart for both passionate service and tender care, Doug’s journey brings to mind 1 John 3:18: "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."

Love and grateful appreciation to our families and spouses for their monumental sacrifices!
